Rebuild Amersfoort
Disaster Relief Project

In short...

A hurricane swept over Country TRAX Amersfoort on 1 November 2016, causing extensive damage to all the facilities. Every building, including Jan and Elsie's home, all the guest rooms, reception buildings, offices, storage sheds, staff housing and water and electricity infrastructure were completely destroyed within a few minutes (More details further down this page).

The Rebuild Amersfoort project was launced in November 2016; to assist Jan, Elsie and their team to rebuild infrastructure on the farm. Good progress have been made (details further down this page) and we look forward to the completion of this project by the end of 2017.

We continue to receive contributions from the community. These contributions allow us to keep on rebuilding Country TRAX Amersfoort. THANK YOU!

Dear Country TRAX Family

A hurricane swept over our farm on 1 November 2016, causing extensive damage to all the facilities here. Every building, including Jan and Elsie's home, all the guest rooms, reception buildings, offices, storage sheds, staff housing and water and electricity infrastructure were completely destroyed within a few minutes. Words and photos cannot describe the incredible force and devastation left in the wake of this disaster. Animals were killed and some people injured, but everyone fortunately survived this terrible ordeal.

Clean-up operations are already in full swing. Jan and Elsie and their team of staff, helpers and other friends are determined to bounce back bigger and better than ever. We at Country TRAX are all determined to rebuild the farm, and restore it to its purpose to be a world class facility where we can all live our dreams and passion and friendship. We know that the motorcycling community are eager to assist in many ways. We have had numerous requests for an avenue to donate finances from around the globe. This page aims to provide a simple platform to anyone who desires to contribute. Kindly select your preferred option, and make your donation. We are eternally grateful for each contribution and we will keep you posted with our progress here.

Warm Country TRAX Regards,
Jan, Elsie and the TEAM

Dear Country TRAX Family

At times, it is hard to believe that the Rebuild Amersfoort project has been ongoing for more than five months. There are days when progress seems frustratingly slow (we'll admit), but for the most part we are proud that there is a good story to tell here.

Most of November, December and January were spent cleaning up. An operation of note... the type that required trucks, bulldozers and loads of character. It took a while to remove the debris that was left behind by the hurricane, but eventually the machinery left. The character stayed.

Training courses at Country TRAX Amersfoort resumed in December. Already. The initial groups were smaller than usual - the farm's full capacity for accommodation and catering had not yet been restored - but it was testimony to the determination of Jan, Elsie and their team to bounce back.

Fast forward to May 2017... running water and electricity have been restored, several buildings have been fixed or replaced and broken trees have been turned into new training obstacles. The sight that greets you upon arrival at Country TRAX Amersfoort is different from the one that most people will remember. Surrounding valleys are more apparent and most of the infrastructure is shinier than it used to be. Regular visitors will be forgiven for having to read the signs to locate reception and other communal areas... Why wouldn't Jan use the opportunity to change things?! For the better we believe.

We are proud of the progress that has been made; the photos tell the story. Country TRAX Amersfoort is indeed being rebuilt into the world class training facility that it is famous for. Only bigger and better. The Rebuild Amersfoort project is ongoing and should be complete by the end of 2017.

To everyone who has contributed so generously... This would not have been possible without the financial support, time and words of inspiration that we received from all over the globe. Words cannot describe how grateful we are. THANK YOU!

Warm Country TRAX Regards,
Jan, Elsie and the TEAM
